Fox Interactive Strikes A Deal With Monolith!!

Story Dated August 24th, 1999

Monolith is a huge developer of 3D video games and are about to finish two smash titles soon to be distributed by Fox Interactive.. But the interesting news lies in this quote: "Monolith will also develop games based on Fox properties for the PC and PlayStation 2 platforms utilizing their proprietary LithTech 3D Engine. " Fox properties includes Futurama, folks so we could be looking at the beginning of a great deal and one step closer (and easier) to a Futurama Video Game. Let's keep our fingers crossed. Read the whole article here.

I Hear Those Toys A Comin'

Story Dated January 10th, 2000

"Word comes in to the Zine that Moore Action Collectibles will soon give you the chance to find action figures based on the cartoon on shelves near you. That’s right, from the people who brought us the recently successful Buffy the Vampire Slayer line, we’re getting another TV-based line. According to Moore, the Futurama is set to begin with, unsurprisingly, Leela and Fry, the two main protagonists in the series, as well as Bender, the alcoholic robot best friend to Fry.

While no release date has been set, Moore does have the license to do an entire line of figures from the show, the it’s likely that we’ll see future release for Futurama as the show continues. The company is gearing up to try to bring us a first look at prototypes for the figures at this year’s Toy Fair, and, if that’s the case, you can bet you’ll see them in the Zine’s big coverage in mid-February. Stay tuned for more information on that and this new Moore line."

#2. I called bongo on the phone to see if there was a release date for "Futurama Comic's", they said it should be out November 2000. also Bill Morrison [Simpsons comics] told WonderCon XII conventioners that several Futurama comic book spinoffs are planned, including "All My Circuits", provided that the main comic book [Futurama] gains popularity. (info was taken from The Futurama Chronicles Q&A page www.frcr.com).

This year at the San Diego comic-con (July 20th through July 24th) at the San Diego Convention Center. The Bongo booth will be giving out stuff like stickers and buttons (and if it's like last year they will give Futurama stuff too). On Saturday the 22nd Matt Groening will be there, he will be showing an upcomming futurama episode. I talk to three writers from Futurama a few months ago and they said that they had a blast last year and are hoping to go this year.

So, if you wan't to go to the comic-con, go Saturday!!.

Go to the Official comic-con website theres no information about Futurama or Matt Groening on that website, I got my info about futurama being at the comic con, by call bongo Comics Group on the phone 1-310-966-6181.
